Acoo Browser – Web Browser Based on the IE Engine
To browse the web and access the vast amounts of information available online, you first need to get a web browser. In this regard you could use the web browser that comes bundled with the Windows operating system - I am of course talking about Internet Explorer (IE). Or you could use a web browser that takes the functionality provided by IE, the functionality provided by some other browsers, throws in something new, and provides you with a nicely wrapped package.
Based on the same engine used by the Microsoft-developed Internet Explorer browser, Acoo provides all the bits and pieces modern browsers boast about. For example you have tabbed browsing – the option to open links not in a new window, but in a tab inside the same browser window. Each tab is a treated as separate process, so if one fails, the browser does not crash.
This is a feature that Firefox and Internet Explorer can also provide. The difference is that both Firefox and Internet Explorer displays tabs at the top of the window; Acoo displays tabs at the bottom of the window.
Customizing the way the browser looks is also something modern browsers can provide. In this regard Acoo is similar to Opera Software’s, well, Opera browser. Opera comes with a bunch of skins you can use to change the way the browser looks – so does Acoo.
While surfing the web in search of whatever you’re looking for, you wouldn’t want to be distracted by annoying popups, flash Ads, banner ads, and other annoyances. Rest assured that while using the Acoo browser this will not happen. The browser is properly capable of blocking out all annoyances that will distract you.
It is a well-known fact that if you want to get things done, and get them done fast, then you need to use keyboard shortcuts. The Acoo browser comes with a long list of shortcuts that allow you to do pretty much anything you can think of. The keyboard shortcut I find myself using all the time is the one that allows me to refresh the webpage I’m viewing. This does not mean the development team behind Acoo couldn’t care less about the mouse and the functionality it provides. Quite the opposite; Acoo comes with an advanced feature called Mouse Gestures which allows you to perform various actions by holding down the mouse button and performing predefined gesture.
Privacy is important! And since the browser stores information on what you did and where you went on the web during your session, you need to have a handy way of getting rid of all this data. Acoo’s Cleaner feature allows you to remove all data related to your browsing session.

Pros
- Easy to use
- Provides the same great features better-known browsers such as IE and Firefox have to offer
- Great looking user interface
- Cleaner feature
- Blocks annoyances like ads and popups
- Skins
- Can be used free of charge
Cons
- Based on the IE engine, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Just that people who do not like IE could be put off by this detail.
